Pediatric Nursing is the specialized area of nursing practice concerning the care of children during wellness and illness including preventive,promotive,curative and rehabilitative aspects.

OVERVIEW

The department of Pediatric Nursing , prepares the under-graduate and post-graduate candidates to be an competent,skillful and creative in delivering the needed nursing care for healthy and sick children from birth to adolescents in different pediatric settings. It include all environmental factors to make students’ learning realistic and authentic which help students think on their feet and help the transition from lab to clinical.

The Department also aims to maintain excellence in pediatric nursing practice, education and research. It provides good teaching- learning experiences to the students to enable them to function as educators, managers and researchers in the field of child health nursing.

LAB FACILITIES

The Child Health Lab is equipped with simulators,manikins, various articles, models, charts & various play therapy material for practicing basic and advanced care delivery to the pediatric care seekers of various age groups.These will helps the students to deliver compassionate, culturally sensitive and family-centered care in the clinical settings.

  • Visit to Crèche, Anganwadi, Well Baby Clinic and conducting health awareness programmes.

  • Visit to Remand home, Certified school and Physically, Mentally and Socially challenged childcare centers.

  • Diarrheal management programme

  • Conducting school health programme at regular intervals.

  • Conducting workshops and seminars on recent trends and concepts

  • Research activities by undergraduates and post graduates students
